In his letter to the Romans, Saint Paul states, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). These words hold great significance for us today, as we live in a world where our faith is constantly challenged and ridiculed. We are bombarded with messages that tell us to be ashamed of our beliefs, to conform to the ways of the world. But Saint Paul reminds us that the gospel is not something to be ashamed of, but rather, it is the very source of our salvation.
Furthermore, Saint Paul’s prophecy is seen in his letter to the Ephesians, where he writes, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:11). This powerful imagery of armor serves as a reminder to us of the spiritual battles we face on a daily basis. In a world filled with temptation, it is easy for us to succumb to the devil’s schemes. But Saint Paul urges us to put on the armor of God, to be equipped with faith, righteousness, truth, and the word of God, so that we may stand firm against the powers of darkness.
